Here are some of our favorite recipes. They are easy to do and don't take long to make.

Green Beans with Potatoes

4 c. water

2 tbsp Heritage Fare Greens Seasoning

2 cans (12 oz.) green beans

2 smoked turkey tails (or ham hocks & neck bones)

3 medium potatoes

1 medium onion



1. Place smoked turkey tails in 3 c. water. Boil until tender (about 10 minutes).

2. After turkey tails become tender, slice potatoes into chunks and add to water.

3. Cut onions into chunks and add to water mixture.

4. Sprinkle 1 heaping tbsp Heritage Fare Greens Seasoning into the mixture and boil for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

5. Add green beans (rinsed) to boiling pot along with another 1 c. of water.

6. Sprinkle another heaping tbsp of Heritage Fare Greens Seasoning on top of mixture.

7. Let boil on high for another 5 minutes or until green beans become tender (stirring continuously).

NOTE: As the water evaporates, add more water, 1 c. at a time and continue the boiling process. Water should never reach more than 1/2 inch above beans.


Green beans should be tender, not soggy.


Serves 4


Kale Salad


1 lb chopped kale greens

1/3 c. ginger

1/2 a red onion

2/3 c. raisins

1/3 c. sunflower seeds

2/3 c. carrots

1/2 a red pepper

1 tbsp Heritige Fare Green Seasoning

3/4 c. Garlic Expressions Salad Dressing



1. Remove the stems, chop kale leaves, red onions, carrots, and red peppers.

(Be sure to cut the kale leaves into small pieces!)

2. Use a food processor to chop garlic

3. Don't forget the Greens Seasoning!

4. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl

5. Let the kale salad set for at least 1 hour.

6. Serve and enjoy!

Mashed Sweet Potatoes


3 lbs sweet potatoes peeled and cut into chunks

3/4 stick of butter

1/2 c. Heritage Fare Sweet Potato Pie Seasoning

1/2 c. condensed milk

Salt and pepper to taste



1. Boil potatoes until tender.

2. Drain potatoes when done and return to stove.

3. Turn on medium heat and then add the butter, milk, potatoes, and Heritage Fare Sweet Potato Pie Seasoning.

4. Mash all ingredients together until smooth. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper and serve hot.


Sweet Potato Casserole

3 lbs sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks

3/4 stick of butter

1 c. Heritage Fare Sweet Potato Pie Seasoning

1/2 c. condensed milk

1 tbsp vanilla

2 eggs, beaten



1 c. packed brown sugar

1/2 stick butter (cubed at room temperature)

1/2 c. flour

1 c. chopped pecans



1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Grease casserole dish and pour in sweet potato mixture.


For the topping:

3. In a bowl whisk the "topping" ingredients together. Sprinkle mixture over potato mixture and bake for 35-40



Curry Chicken

1 whole chicken

6 tbsp curry powder

2 tbsp Heritage Fare Green Seasoning

2 potatoes

1.5 tbsp olive oil

2 c. water

1 c. chicken broth

1 onion

3 scallion

5 stalks thyme

4 tsp garlic (or 4 cloves)

2 tsp sea salt



1. Chop the chicken into pieces and season with salt & curry powder.

2. Next, heat 1.5 tsp olive oil in a skillet on medium heat.

3. Place chicken in heated skillet and sear for 6 min on each side


In a separate skillet:

4. Heat olive oil in skillet.

5. Chop green onion and onions then add to heated olive oil with thyme stalks, let simmer on medium for 5 minutes.

7. Then sprinkle in garlic, pepper, and Green Seasoning while stirring.

8. Add chicken, then the potatoes to onion mixture.

NOTE: Chicken stock can be added when necessary during entire cooking process

9. Cook on medium heat for approximately 1 hour. (Be sure to stir often to avoid sticking or scorching.)


Chicken Curry Chicken Curry

Stir Fried Collard Greens

1 lb collard greens chopped or shredded

4 large cloves of garlic (diced or sliced)

1 tbs Heritage Fare Greens Seasoning
1/2 c. chopped onions
4 green onions stalks (chopped)
2 tbsp olive oil
2 c. water
2 pads butter



1. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in fying pan.

2. Stir fry garlic for 1 minute, then add onions and green onions. Sautee for 1 more minute.

3. Add collard greens. You should hear a sizzle when adding greens.

4. Sprinkle Heritage Fare Greens Seasoning on top.

5. Let greens cook a few minutes then add 1/2 c. water.

6. Cover and cook on medium for 10 minutes (adding water as needed).

7. Be sure to stir mixture continually

8. After 10 minutes, lower heat then continue to add remaining water as needed and cook for another 10 minutes.

9. Stir in butter.

NOTE: Tastes vary. Cook to your desired tenderness.

Total cook time - About 22 minutes

Traditional Chicken Salad

3-4 baked chicken strips (diced)

1/8 c. chopped pickles or use relish

1 tsp Heritage Fare Green Seasoning

1/2 tsp brown sugar

2 tbsp Miracle Whip or Mayo

1/2 c. chopped onions

1 boiled egg, chopped 

Salt and pepper to taste



1. Mix together Heritage Fare Green Seasoning, mayo, and brown sugar.

2. Add it to the remaining ingredients and stir well.

Fried Apples

2 medium apples

2 tsp unsalted butter

1/4 c. Heritage Fare Sweet Potato Pie Seasoning

1/4 c. brown sugar



1. Peel and cut the apples into slices or cubes and put in pot.

2. Add butter, Heritage Fare Sweet Potato Pie Seasoning, and brown sugar.

3. Cook on medium heat for 10 minutes or until the apples are tender and the glaze begins to caramelize.

4. While cooking, stir the apples a few times to be sure it browns evenly.

5. Remove from pan and serve.

Fried Green Tomatoes

3 green tomatoes (sliced)

3 eggs

1 c. Heritage Fare Fish Coating

2 tbsp olive oil



1. Heat oil in frying pan on medium-high heat.

2. Mix eggs together well.

3. Dip tomatoes in egg wash and coat with Heritage Fare Fish Coating.

4. Fry in olive oil. Remove when crispy and serve.
